Moved to Medium

So there we go, I moved my blog to Medium simply because I like moving my blog around, it’s new year, and somehow Medium nailed the writing…

So there we go, I moved my blog to Medium simply because I like moving my blog around, it’s new year, and somehow Medium nailed the writing and interaction part of blogging or writing content in general.

I started blogging in somewhere end of the 90s on Livejournal, moved I think to Typepad, on to some self hosted things, further to SquareSpace and recently to Wordpress.com. Let’s see how long I stick here.

The process is fairly simple. You export from Wordpress.com, import your articles into a new publication (for me that’s 2338 posts in three archives) on Medium and then request your subdomain to be connected. Some 24 hours later I got all the DNS settings from Medium support, changed some stuff and am now a happy camper with everything working, including redirects from the old URLs to the new ones.

Side note: Yes, I once told myself I would only move when I could keep old URLs but I stop really giving a f***. Google will manage :)

So now I have a profile and my publication and maybe, just maybe, I will blog a bit more. This one has been simple.
