Building a Bullet Proof Startup

This sunday I read the June Issue of Business 2.0 and the title story is “How to Build a Bullet Proof Startup”. I am happy to report that we are doing rather well based on the list. As an example, we beat their specs for getting an office by a big margin: we are paying less than market rate, got the place renovated, don’t have any commitment on the timeframe, and have just enough room for now with over 100 square meters blocked for us on the same floor. :)
For now, I am not sure we are bullet proof, but things are progressing nicely.
On and by the way, the system above to read Business 2.0 online rocks. Thanks Loic for the pointer.

Invest in Germany

Jamie messages me an image recently.

Knowing that he lives in the US, it did look like a weird sight. I then learned that these kind of posters (here is another one) are all over Grand Central in New York. At least he has seen them nowhere else. With Grand Central being a major hub in New York, and New York being a very financial city, this actually does make sense, or at least if it makes sense, then in Grand Central.
So there you go. Invest in Germany. You might want to invest in Ormigo while you’re at it ;)

Color Picker in OS X

Need a color picker for OS X that also gives you HEX values? First get HEXColorPicker to extend the default color picker to give out hex values. Then go here for a little script that allows you to open the color picker from anywhere as if it were its own application. Problem solved. ;)

Gotuit helps sales

That’s something I just presume. I myself am the first proof. Sitting at your computer you can have your own Gotuit channel running and I myself am just listening to their top videos. Very nice indeed and hopping over to buy the All American Rejects Album via iTunes was easy. I was not even helped by Gotuit, but it’s just easier to buy stuff via your pc when you are sitting at your pc listening to music. Thanks Gotuit.

The 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner

Amazing speech by Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Listen how the laughing gets a little less during the talk. Check it out.

Video Permalinks

Google Video now has permalinks for their videos as Google Blogoscoped reports. Simply ad #2m15 to the end of a video and the link will be to 2 minutes and 15 seconds into the file. Very cool indeed. (via Micro Persuasion)

Call the world for free

The Gizmo Project makes me think to get the Nokia 770 a third time (screen problems with both two devices I bought). Gizmo is something like skype but for one, it is available on the Nokia 770. You do start to wonder why Skype is so slow with releasing new versions.
But Gizmo just went out with an amazing new feature, though a bit easy to mistake for even better. Starting now you can call landlines and mobile phones (some countries) for free with Gizmo. The only requirement is that a user registers with Gizmo and enters their phone numbers in their profile. Once there, you can call that number free via Gizmo. Looking forward to see some more people sign up.
