It’s a list of stuff that always kind of happens in films.
OS X Rocks
Thijs and me played a bit with his Mac and I am once again positively surprised. For example we put in a CD, started listening, then thought we’d rip it and it started ripping the CD and encoding it and then started (it seems) to play the MP3s in the middle of a file, because there was no click or anything in the music. Very nice.
Also the rest of the interface just seems very nice and consistent. I am now at 99.999% certainty of getting an iBook, up from 99.99% from before playing with his box ![]()
I also really like Entourage which I could try out because Thijs had the trial version. If syncing works that would rock, plain and simple.
Now I just need to see where I can buy it and at which price. Because it is cheaper at some places but the problem then is that I am not sure how the warranty works when something brakes.

Ha! I’m a featured member at The Feature (http://www.thefeature.com). Probably just be chance but still fun to suddenly see your picture there ![]()
On a side note, Thijs brought me to look at Kenamea and I suggest you give it a try. Needs IE: http://www.kenamea.com/try_kenamea.html
Thank you soco and sean!
I have to thank soco for asking for CD suggestions and sean for suggesting
Nathaniel Merriweather presents … Lovage
Music to make love to your old lady by
The cd just rocks. I love “Book of the month”
Finding it was a horror though. I only got it in a CD store because the guy there searched for hit for a long time a week ago. The thing is that it was sorted in under techno/ambience under the name Dan the Automator which is the producer. Not under Nathaniel. Not under Merriweather. Not under Lovage. Under D, for Dan.
Glad I have it now.
iBook or not
Well, my laptop died, or the screen to be exact. So I am looking for a new one.
The problem here is that it brought back the iBook thinking.
I could get a Dell Latitude (or Inspiron, forgot) 4100 for 2100 EUR (1.0 ghz p3, 256mb, 20gig, network, modem, 14″, XP Pro, Office XP) and this would be a wonderful system really. I have no doubt about it.
But I could get an iBook 600Mhz (100mhz bus speed), 12″ (more than happy with that), 256mb, 20gig, dvd/cd-rw, wavelan, networking, modem, OS X for about 2200 EUR.
Now there, the price is close. It bothers me that it has no IR port and no PCMCIA especially because I want bluetooth some time. I could use an USB-Bluetooth adapter though.
The real problem comes in though when I think about software. I am used to the windows software I have and there its not really hard to get any of it even for free from friends or some other way.
For the Mac, I would have nothing and as it looks now, not much ability to get anything and I need Outlook for syncing the palm and future mobile phones for example so I would need office for OS X, also for Word for my studies. I just can’t buy that though. I am already out there with the price of the laptop at the moment. So that is my major drawback at the moment. A major one. If the software issue would be settled then I think I would have to do some very serious thinking. Very serious.
I think I’ll read up a bit on mac stuff now and do some further thinking. Hmmm… if anyone of you mac users want to give another personal account of wether you think its a good idea to have a windows desktop and apple laptop then shoot. But I think most of you already talked about it many times.
